That pit in the stomach

It just hits you out of the blue.
You think that after all this time it would get easier.

A phone call from the hospital still affects me the same.
My heart is racing.
My nerves are shot.
And all because of the level of her platelets dropping.

They're not too terribly concerned, in that an ultrasound can wait a month. But concerned enough that they called.

So we'll go in for a check at the end of January.  We'll go to the new hospital.

We're doing labs every three months to watch for this sort of thing, but at the same time, it's easier to pretend to live in the land of "normal."
