Advent - Webster's defines it as "the period beginning four Sundays before Christmas and observed by some Christians as a season of prayer and fasting."

It is a period of waiting.

As Christians, we are waiting for the birth of Christ. Little kids are waiting for Santa, more importantly for their presents.

We, well we are waiting for a liver. I hate waiting. We are still waiting to hear the results of my tests from Northwestern Hospital. The MRI results are back, but they need to be reviewed by the surgeons.

As for Natalie, she is nothing short of a miracle, and one that we get to spend each and every day with! Last night Mimi Murphy from WIFR 23 news came to the house to interview us about Natalie. The "bear" (Miss Natalie) was tired and grumpy, but in all fairness to her it was bedtime. But she played lots and of course hammed it up for the camera, as her adorable self. But then, she went right to bed with no fight after they left.

Ah, bedtime, it';s so cute the way that she snuggles with her cloth diaper. She pulls it in tight and lets out a little sigh of relief, and closes her eyes. It's my favorite time of day, her bedtime. Lately she has begun trying to stall us. As I am changing her into her PJs, she will start babbling a mile a minute. The she does her little Natalie dance, swaying back and forth. But by the time I pick up Goodnight Moon, she realizes that she not getting out of it, and puts her head on my shoulder. I cherish it, never wanting to forget it. I know that someday she'll be too big to sit in my lap.
