The morning of a working mother…

Post date: Apr 1, 2011 2:39:37 PM

Get up, shower, “Natalie, time to get up,” get dressed, make sure Natalie is getting dressed, let the dog out (“daddy already did that, mom”), make sure Natalie is still getting dressed, brush hair, make sure Natalie is dressed and moving toward the kitchen. Serve breakfast, pack lunch, and throw dinner in the crockpot. Open Natalie’s book bag. Is all homework present and ready to be turned in? Where is the library book? Study spelling words.

Lather on some make-up. Read some emails. Facebook. Lose 10 minutes of time by reading facebook. Throw on nylons. Natalie, are you still eating?

Crap nylons have a run in them.

Is the dog still out?

Brush your teeth. Come here and let me brush your hair. I know it hurts. Take your meds, Natalie. Thanks.

We have 2 minutes before the bus gets here.

Where are your boots? Socks! You need socks? I'll run and get them. How about your hat and coat, can you put those on?

One minute left.

Grab your book bag.

Have a great day at school, I love you.

Find new nylons, drive to work to “relax.”

Lather, rinse, repeat.

PS – thanks God for this day.

Amen.
